New York, November 21, 2025 – House of Made in Italy opened its doors to Tales of the Roots: Italian Flavors Beyond Borders”, the event organized in collaboration with the Columbus Citizens Foundation, the Consulate General of Italy in New York, and Casa Artusi, on the occasion of the 10th Week of Italian Cuisine in the World. The evening brought together institutions, the Italian-American community, professionals, and enthusiasts of Italian gastronomic culture, transforming the historic Upper East Side townhouse into a place of cultural dialogue and shared memory.

The theme of stories of our roots” served as the common thread for an experience that explored how Italian cuisine has traveled, evolved, and taken root overseas, becoming a heritage recognized and appreciated around the world. The photographic exhibition presented during the event offered a contemporary look at recipes created within Italian migrant communities between the late 19th and 20th centuries. It revealed how, far from home, Italians blended ingredients, traditions, and memories to maintain their identity, giving life to dishes that bridge North and South, past and present. The images highlight not mere adaptations, but the very essence of Italianità: a cuisine that has always embraced exchange, reinvention, and multiplicity, transforming local experiences into a collective heritage.

Also at the heart of the evening was the tradition of Italian home cooking, brought to the stage by the Casa Artusi team, who prepared one of the emblematic dishes of regional tradition: mushroom risotto. The cooking show offered the audience an authentic moment of sharing, interweaving technique, storytelling, and memory. Completing the experience was a tasting of 100% Italian food & wine products, selected to showcase the quality and biodiversity of Made in Italy.

The Consul General of Italy in New York, Fabrizio Di Michele, spoke during the evening, emphasizing the significance of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World as a tool of cultural and economic diplomacy, and highlighting the central role of gastronomy in conveying Italys identity and strengthening ties between the Italian and Italian-American communities.

With Tales of the Roots”, House of Made in Italy reaffirms its mission to promote Italian culture through experiences that unite products, people, and stories. A celebration of gastronomic heritage as a living expression of Italian roots—capable of evolving, resonating globally, and remaining deeply authentic.
