Yesterday, during The Italian Show at the Grand Elysée Hotel in Hamburg, I Love Italian Food awarded the “100% Italian” certificates to the city’s restaurants and pizzerias that stand out for their authenticity and faithfulness to true Italian culinary tradition. This recognition celebrates those who, every day, choose authentic ingredients, respect original recipes and methods, and tell the story of Italy through their cuisine, becoming a reference point for Italian gastronomy abroad.

The 100% Italiano project was created to highlight the ambassadors of our cuisine beyond national borders. It is not just about preparing a good dish: it means conveying a heritage made of territories, family traditions, and artisanal skills. As Alessandro Schiatti, President of I Love Italian Food, recalled during the ceremony:

“When a dish reaches a customer’s table, it is not just a finished product: inside, there are the stories of our regions, the traditions of the families who have safeguarded certain recipes for generations, and the expertise of Italian producers who work every day to bring authenticity to the world. It is thanks to Italian restaurateurs abroad that all of this arrives here, and for this reason they deserve to be acknowledged and celebrated.”

The selection of venues was curated by I Love Italian Food with the support of its Ambassadors of Made in Italy, Italian professionals living abroad who have a deep understanding of what it truly means to offer real Italian cuisine in an international context.

In Hamburg, two categories were awarded: 100% Italian Restaurant and 100% Italian Pizza. All selected venues have been included in the new 100% Italian Guide – Hamburg, a map of the city’s authentic Italian dining scene, gathering stories and addresses that contribute every day to representing and promoting our culinary heritage around the world.
